The U.S. Biathlon Development team has moved its national headquarters to Fort Kent, ME. Hoping to feed off the excitement from the recent world cup, Coach James Upham will work closely with Maine Winter Sports Center coaches Kris Cheney Seymour, Will Sweetzer and Jens Johansson. Tight schedule coordination will allow the team to work with local athletes participating in the many various programs supported by MWSC throughout Aroostook County. The twelve member team will include four athletes that competed for the US at the Fort Kent world cup last March. Included on the team are:

Women

Men
Bethann Chamberlain, MN
Seth Hubbard, ME
Haley Johnson, NY
Zach Hall, AK
Sara Studebaker, ID

This new collaboration between the USBA and MWSC will allow these athletes the benefits of a fully funded program, two world class venues for training (Fort Kent and Presque Isle, Maine), and guaranteed international race experience. Goals for the program are designed for high expectations on the world stage. These athletes are expected to perform well in World Cups, World Championships, Europa Cups and the Olympics.

Each athlete will participate in a project designed to serve the local community. Some of this year's projects will include: air rifle programs, video production, academic tracking, Healthy Aim visits to schools, web design, etc.

Please feel free to stop by the 10th Mountain Lodge in Fort Kent for a tour or to watch the team training!

Training with the National Guard team in Jericho Vermont is Sarah Riley who was on the 2003 World Championship team.
